MELONYA JOHNSON EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
I vividly recall a moment during my undergraduate studies when, daydreaming out the window, I pondered my future with a psychology degree. My thoughts were clear: I wanted to work either as an organizational psychologist or reform the prison system. Today, I realize that both dreams have intersected—many workplaces feel like prisons, and I am committed to changing that.
My mission is to enhance the employee work-life experience by helping managers, leaders, and organizations create environments where everyone can thrive, regardless of their role. We have one life, and it should be a fulfilling experience.
Respect is essential; once lost, it becomes the focal point of concern. As your partner, I will lead with respect and a direct approach. I ask tough questions and am prepared to wait in silence for your answers. I am your change agent, ready to guide you through the challenging process of transformation.
As your Sherpa, keep focused and follow my lead—change can be daunting, but true greatness requires overhauling systems, behaviors, policies, and communications. Many desire change without real commitment, akin to wanting to lose weight without altering diet and exercise. Genuine change requires moving through uncharted territory, often uncomfortably.
Choose wisely: I am not for those unwilling to embrace real change. I operate with integrity and courage, and I do not sugarcoat the truth. My approach is grounded in rigorous study and respect.
I challenge the status quo. I champion servant leadership, as employees seek leaders who serve them to help them serve the mission effectively.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Daemen College and a Master of Science in Professional Leadership from St. Bonaventure University. I am a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and have earned a number of coaching certifications. As President of BSMART Coaching, I specialize in change management strategies for individuals, teams, and organizations.
With over twenty years of experience across various industries, including roles as consultant, facilitator, trainer, and Vice President of Operations and Compliance for a $30+ million not-for-profit, I bring extensive expertise in psychology, organizational behavior, leadership, and strategy. I am dedicated to helping leaders and executives unlock their potential and enhance their effectiveness.
What I Want for You? Change for the better.
